Why do we recommend Hewlett Packard LaserJets?True story #1 - A client of ours uses a LaserJet 4100 series printer. At 304,468 copies it insisted it wanted some attention. After all, it had missed its 200,000 print maintenance interval. Actually, it had never been serviced. And at 304,468 prints, it had 20 total events in its log. That is a 0.007% event rate, even if they were all jams, it's pretty tough to complain. True story #2 - Another client has a LaserJet 1160 with 72,286. It had a few jams and there were complaints. Specifically, it had 8 jams, in its lifetime. That is a 0.011% jam rate. This printer is located in a truck bay! It is constantly surrounded by up to 4 tractor trailers, 8 smaller vehicles and two forklifts making multiple passes each. It's not in an office, it is on the shipping floor of a busy distributor. Why do we recommend genuine supplies?True story #3 - both printers above use only genuine Hewlett Packard supplies. True story #4 - C3's LaserJet 3330 (all-in-one) has 36,561 pages printed with no major service and 14 jams. That is a 0.038% jam rate. True story #5 - a client who got their 3330 about the same time as us replaced it. The old one had gotten very loud. They decided we should service the old one and they might keep it as a backup. The problem was the clone toner cartridge and the second clone toner cartridge they had tried. True story #6 - another client, again with a 3330, was having very slow warm up times. We serviced it. The problem was dirty mirrors caused by a clone toner cartridge that was leaking toner into the printer and dirtying the scanner assembly. True story #7 - yet another client with a Color LaserJet 4600 has had a few problems with their heavily used printer. Strange color patterns in solid fields caused by a clone cyan cartridge. Odd shades of blue caused by different clone cyan cartridge. And most recently jams caused by a clone black cartridge - apparently the toner from this is stickier and clings to the fuser just a little too long. Conclusion
